Meet The Coaches

Henry Johnson

Head Varsity Coach

Entering his ninth season at Brea, Coach Johnson is very excited for this season as head coach. He attended Santiago High School in Garden Grove where he excelled as a power forward /shooting guard and was awarded League MVP, All League for offense and defense, Team MVP honors, and went on to continue his basketball education at Rancho Santiago College in Santa Ana.

Coach Johnson enjoys teaching basketball while at the same time knows the life lessons he can instill in his players through the game. His 33 years as a player, 22 years as a CIF Certified Official, 9 years as a youth basketball coach, and 2 seasons as the Girl's Varsity Assistant Coach at Santa Ana High School give him the knowledge and passion to motivate and inspire his athletes.

Coach Johnson believes in hard work, dedication, passion, and sacrifice and he expects nothing less from his players. He understands and practices the core values in which it takes to turn a team into a family.

Ken McCall

Athletic Trainer

I started working for Brea Olinda High School as the Athletic Trainer in 2003.  My primary job responsibilities include prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries for all student athletes. I received my Bachelors degree in Kinesiology from CSULB in 2002 and passed the NATABOC exam later that year to become a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC).  In 2003 I became a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and in 2004 I became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). In 2005 I started teaching ROP Sports Medicine and Therapy here at BOHS and started a new Medical Careers class in 2015. I have also created an athletic training student aide internship and have several students working closely with me as they use their knowledge and skills from the classroom to prepare for higher education and employment in health care.
